What is the Google Ads Transparency Center?

It's Google's public library of ads from verified advertisers: every ad shown on Google Search, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Play, Shopping and partner sites, with the advertiser's name and when the ad ran. This tool searches it for you.

Is this tool free?

Yes. You get 5 free requests a day without an account. Sign up free for 100 credits, plus a top-up to 25 every day. No card needed. Each page of ads costs 1 credit.

How do I see a competitor's Google ads?

Type their website, like nike.com, pick a country and press Run. You get their ads with the format (text, image or video), a preview and the first and last dates Google showed each one. Press Next page for more.

Can I filter by country, format or platform?

Yes. Set the region to a country code like US or GB, the format to text, image or video, and the platform to Google Search, YouTube, Maps, Play or Shopping.

Does it show ad spend or clicks?

Only for political (election) ads, where Google publishes spend and impression ranges; set topic to political to list them. For every other ad the Transparency Center shows the creative and its run dates, and so does this tool. Nobody publishes clicks.

Can I export Google ads to a spreadsheet?

Yes. Press Download CSV after a search for one ad per row with its advertiser, format, preview link and dates.
