How do I get the transcript of a TikTok video?
Copy the video's link (Share, then Copy link, in the app; or the address bar on tiktok.com), paste it above and press Run. You get the words as plain text to copy, plus a timestamped version you can save as captions.
Is this TikTok transcript tool free?

Where does the transcript come from?
From TikTok's own captions: the auto-generated speech captions TikTok makes for most spoken videos, or the captions the creator added. Only when you turn on the AI fallback and a video has no captions do we run speech-to-text on its audio.
Why is there no transcript for some videos?
Videos with only music, no speech, or captions turned off have no captions for TikTok to show. Turn on the AI fallback (use_ai_as_fallback) and we transcribe the audio ourselves, for videos up to 2 minutes; that costs 5 credits instead of 1. Brand-new videos can take a little while before TikTok's captions appear.
Can I get the transcript in another language?
When TikTok has captions in more than one language, the result lists them and you can pass a language code such as es or fr. By default you get the video's original language.
Can I download the transcript as SRT or VTT?
The timestamped version is WEBVTT, which most video editors and YouTube accept: copy it into a file ending in .vtt. The plain text is there too if you only need the words.
Can I transcribe many TikToks at once?
Yes. It's one API request per video to /v1/tiktok/video/transcript with your API key, and it works inside Claude as an MCP connector, so you can ask for a whole creator's scripts in one go.
