What people use it for

  • Pick between two influencers

The smaller account often engages a far bigger share of its followers. Compare both rates.

  • Spot a hollow following

A huge account with few likes per reel can mean inactive or bought followers.

  • Your rate for a media kit

Copy your result into a media kit or a client report.

FAQ

How do you calculate Instagram engagement rate?

(Likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100 for each reel, averaged over the 12 latest, pinned ones left out. Rival IQ and Socialinsider use the same formula.

What is a good engagement rate on Instagram?

For brands, 0.36% is the 2025 median across 2,100 brands (Rival IQ), and the average brand reel gets 0.52% (Socialinsider). Creators and smaller accounts usually do better.

Why does it use reels?

They're most of what accounts post, and their play counts give a second rate: per play. For a photo post, use Enter numbers.

Can I calculate engagement rate without a username?

Yes. Pick Enter numbers and type the followers, likes and comments. It runs in your browser and uses no try.

Does it work on private accounts?

No, their reels are hidden. For your own, use Enter numbers.

Is it free?

Yes. No account: 5 free tries a day. A free account gets 100 credits, topped up to 25 daily. Each account uses one try, or 1 credit with an account. Enter numbers is always free.
